Upskill my business

The Victorian Government has released Upskill My Business, an online platform connecting small businesses with over 130 free courses, webinars and resources – from building resilience through the COVID-19 restrictions to managing cash flow to managing worker and employer mental health and wellbeing. This adds to resources already available through NDS and the NDIS.

Three Upskill My Business courses that may be of interest are:

  • COVID-19: Managing through a crisis - Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry CEO Paul Guerra and Pitcher Partners' cashflow experts Innis Cull and Adrian Clerici discuss how to manage your business through the COVID-19 crisis.
  • Supporting positive mental health at work during COVID-19 - another Victorian Chamber of Commerce webinar; and
  • Strategic Management and Marketing - a Melbourne University professional development course that considers the ways in which Marketing is critical to the strategic growth of any business, particularly in a challenging business environment.

Most courses are designed to be completed at the participant's own pace.

NDS's Training and development

NDS's new look Training and Development webpage makes it easier to find and undertake sector-specific training.  The webpage includes the NDS Workforce Essentials library, which has a large range of resources, tools and products for the disability sector so that you can train your workforce online, anytime and from anywhere.  These e-learning assets aim to meet the benchmarks of providing high quality, safe supports and services to NDIS participants as outlined by the NDIS Practice Standards.  NDS is currently offering a subsidy for a discrete number of these training opportunities, with government funding.

For further information, please contact The Learning & Development Team, at learnanddevelop@nds.org.au

The NDS NDIS In Practice website also has additional information about operating in the NDIS environment; with practical resources designed for disability services under the categories of Governance, NDIS Operations, People and Capability, Strategy and Leadership, Customer and Market Focus and Finance.
