This workshop is in partnership with and facilitated by Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI).

Understand what Direct Care and Support workers are and are not allowed to do within their scope of practice.

This interactive session will show you how to know and work within your scope of practice and how this protects staff and organisations in the Disability sector.

Instructor Led Training (ILT) via Zoom

Duration: 1 hour

Course outcomes:

  • Know what Scope of Practice (SOP) means and how to find out what yours is
  • Discover how a team approach to delivering support helps you to work within your scope of practice and reduces risk for yourself and the person you support
  • Gain case study experience in knowing your scope of practice relating to medication administration, health deterioration, providing advice and responding to client requests outside of agree services

NDS recommends that Supervisors and Support workers within disability service organisations are most suited to attend.
