Defensible Documentation In-house Workshop

This essential course will simplify the way you document and give you the skills to document the support you provide in a way which is accurate, legally defensible, and improves outcomes for the people you support.
Instructor Led Training (ILT) via Zoom or face-to-face at your organisation
Duration: Three hours
Course outcomes:
- Understand factual objective language and how it improves care and communication
- Know what’s relevant to document
- Learn the FACT® method, and how to use it to improve your documentation
- Practice writing clear and concise, defensible progress or case notes
- Be able to put your new skills into action to document support, change, risks, goals and progress
- Receive a Quick Reference Guide (QRG) to support ongoing documentation
This workshop is in partnership with Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI) and facilitated by Donny Raets. Donny holds a Diploma of Teaching, Cert IV Training and Assessment, Cert IV Aged and Community Care and has 30 plus years’ experience in education, ranging from Primary through to Tertiary (Vocational Education and Training), remote Indigenous Communities and the Corporate sector. Her CALD background and training in the Arts support her creation and delivery of meaningful learning experiences.
NDS recommends all Disability Support Workers, Coordinators and Team Leaders, and Operations staff attend this training.
Cost
Capped at 20 participants.
- NDS Members: $2300 plus GST
- Non-members: $3070 plus GST
