The Department of Health and Human Services Victoria (DHHS) have published guidelines summarising COVID-19 directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer relevant to Victorian disability service providers.

Centre based support services, in particular, are encouraged to read these documents carefully in determining how they operate their services:

People living in Stay at Home restricted areas may only leave home if one of the four reasons to leave home apply.

  1. Shopping for food or other essential items.
  2. To provide care giving, for compassionate reasons or to seek medical treatment.
  3. For exercise (outdoor exercise only, with only one other person or members of your household).
  4. Work, study, if you cannot work, or study from home.

Get Tested campaign

DHHS have also launched the Get Tested campaign, which includes a series of promotional materials aimed at encouraging testing, even with the presentation of the mildest of symptoms. Please help share this important message throughout your networks.

Infection Control Visits

A reminder NDS is working with DHHS to offer free visits by public health team members to a selected number of disability houses to provide support and advice on ways to prepare for and manage any outbreaks of Coronavirus.
